The Jason Bennett Actor's Workshop is pleased to offer professional acting and voice classes for teenagers in New York from the ages of 13 - 17. Our school proudly offers the next generation of actor and singer training for teenagers -- with amazing services you won't find at any other professional acting school in New York. Our New York teen acting classes are age-appropriate, intense and fun. We fully prepare singers and actors for auditioning and booking jobs in television, film and theater. Our New York teen acting classes also prepare the student for adult professional acting classes with Jason Bennett and other faculty.

The New York acting classes for teens begin with classic improvisational theater games that foster: spontaneity, the development of the imagination (which is where great acting and singing comes from), improvisational skill, sensory awareness, learning to listen and respond deeply to other actors, and more. Our work gets rapid results, saving you time and money. As each young actor advances, the work begins to explore the imagination on deeper levels, with fantasy games and complex performance exercises. Basic emotional process is introduced, along with concentration and relaxation exercises that great actors use their entire careers.

The principles of working on camera are taught in all our New York acting classes and the actors experience working on camera. Teen actors are assigned scene partners and work on monologues that will teach them the basic principles of great acting.

The actors in this class may be invited to assist with and appear in our school's public shows. They may also have the opportunity to sit in on our advanced, adult New York acting classes. This allows them to watch seasoned, working actors further developing their process. When appropriate, the actor may be admitted into adult workshops.

We refer, where appropriate, actors to managers and agents where they can explore the business side of acting. But first, it starts with the kind of meaningful professional acting training we are excited to offer you.

You are asked to prepare for the interview by thinking about why you want to study acting, what kind of acting you admire and who your favorite actors are and why. If you already have headshots and resumés, please bring them. If you don't, that's ok.

New York Acting Classes for Teenagers with Jason Bennett

Basic New York Acting Class Schedule: Saturdays: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Class size averages 10 students per class. Classes are $145 per four classes. You may attend one class to try it out, paying the cost of one class. After this, classes are usually sold in packages of eight.
