Bridgit Dengel Gaspard teaches Improvisation, Archetype Work and Movement for Actors. She studied acting, voice and movement for over 15 years, including the techniques of Growtowski, Hagen, Johnstone, Meisner, Spolin, and Strasberg. She studied acting and audition techniques with Michael Howard, Austin Pendleton, Caymichael Patten and Carol Fox Prescott. She did extensive improvisation work with Gary Austin, founder of The Groundlings.
While acting professionally for the past 13 years, Bridgit Dengel Gaspard studied Archetype Work and Dream Work with Dr. Dassie Hoffman and Dr. Martha-Lou Cohen. She completed the advanced facilitator training offered by Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone at VDI in California. Ms. Dengel Gaspard and Dr. Dassie Hoffman co-created a workshop for artists and performers called "Power Your Creativity Through Archetype Work." She incorporates movement, dance, and energy work into teaching Archetype Work. Her movement work is significantly influenced by modern, jazz, African and Middle-Eastern dance.
Bridgit Dengel Gaspard can be seen in films such as "Enemies of Laughter" and "Jungle to Jungle." She originated roles in Off-Off Broadway plays and wrote and performed her own material at Caroline's Comedy Club, Stand Up New York, Gotham, and other clubs around the city. The Daily News highlighted the two-woman comedy show she wrote called "Off the Rack: Cruelty in Retail" which she performed at The Here and Kraine Theaters. She is currently working on her next piece, "If You Know You're Shallow, Does That Make You Deep?"
As a free-lance entertainment journalist, Bridgit Dengel was the Daily Correspondent at the Cannes Film Festival for Hollywood.com in 2000 and 2002. She was the festival line-producer for entertainment reporter, Sandy Kenyon. Bridgit Dengel has written for Comic Bible, Broadway.com, Showbusiness Weekly, Guerilla Filmmaker and more.
She graduated with honors from Boston University with a degree in political science and a minor in dance. Bridgit Dengel Gaspard has a Master in Social Work. She is available in group classes and for private work.
